Michel Herbelin have been creating unique timepieces since 1947 and the Trophy Abyss is no exception. Combining French styling and artisanal know-how with modernity, they have created a stunning timepiece which is very happy in either a marine or land environment. For those who love adventure water sports, then this Trophy Abyss is the one for you. The team have combined superior styling with materials which are designed to withstand a tough environment.
Corrosion resistant 316L Steel.
The casing and bracelet are created from 316L steel. It is classed as marine grade because of its effective resistance to chloride corrosion in comparison to other stainless-steel grades. It’s also safe enough to make surgical instruments with, so it is skin friendly too.
Ceramic movable bezel
Ceramic can withstand chemical erosion and is also anti-magnetic and hypoallergenic. Scratch-resistant, your marine timepiece will look good for years to come. It’s also surprisingly lightweight, allowing you to focus on your underwater adventures. The rotating feature of the Trophy helps you to keep track of time, or essentially the amount of air time in your diving tank. It’s unidirectional, meaning it will only rotate in a counter-clockwise direction, ensuring that even if you accidentally bump the bezel when underwater, it won’t cause you to come up sooner than planned or beyond the capacity of their air tank.
No ‘foggy circle’
The screw down crown feature creates a seal, preventing the dreaded ‘foggy circle’ in the middle of your watch face. The screw back casing also creates a water-tight seal, as well as preventing dust or dirt entering your timepiece, potentially slowing down the movement.
Super tough sapphire crystal
Sapphire crystal is around twice as hard as mineral glass and can only be scratched by diamonds or hard rock surfaces, ensuring your timepiece should look good for years to come.
No battery required
The movement calibre is a Sellita 11 1/2 SW200-1 automatic. It’s a self-winding ball bearing with around 38 hours of power reserve. It’s precise, reliable, robust and Swiss made.
