W. Lloyd Attree has been part of the fabric of Dartmouth since 1978, when Mr Attree opened his jewellery store on Duke Street to bring quality jewellery and expert craftsmanship to this beautiful Devon harbour town. The store quickly became a local institution — not just for its jewellery, but for the watch and clock repairs, trophy engraving and warm personal service that set it apart. For many years, Lloyd Attree's was the jeweller of choice for engraving trophies for Dartmouth's famous Royal Regatta, one of the oldest and best known regattas in the country.

In 2015, Mr Attree — then 87 years old — decided it was finally time to consider retiring. The Warr family, who operate David Christopher Jewellers, were determined to ensure this beloved store remained part of Dartmouth's high street. They purchased the business while keeping the W. Lloyd Attree name, honouring the store's heritage and its place in the community. Such was Mr Attree's passion for his craft that he continued to provide clock repairs and expert engraving for several years after the sale — a testament to a lifetime dedicated to his trade.

Today Lloyd Attree's continues to offer the same trusted local service, now with the backing of the David Christopher group and access to a wider range of brands and jewellery than ever before.
