Description
The Olivia Burton team have combined their love of florals with the skills of the Artisan lace makers to create a vintage look which is both feminine and elegant. Lace was always seen as an expensive luxury item in clothing because of the painstaking time it took to create. Therefore, it was often the most expensive part of the clothing. Both men and women wore lace from form its creation in the 16th century to the 18th century. Imagine lace being draped over women’s shoulders, sometimes covering hands, heads and even entire gowns! It was also seen as a reflection of the sophisticated tastes of the aristocracy during that time period and Olivia Burton celebrate the skills of those who made the creation of lace possible.
